Stafford Education Foundation 3rd Annual Golf Classic
The Stafford Education Foundation will host the 3rd annual golf classic on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, in support of Stafford County Schools. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Gauntlet Golf Club, 18 Fairway Drive Fredericksburg, VA 22406. A foursome is $450.00 and includes greens fees, cart, lunch, beverages and a welcome gift. Welcome New SCPS Teachers
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our Stafford County Public School family. All new teachers are required to attend a week long New Teacher Institute. Events planned throughout the week include sessions on curriculum, instruction, technology requirements, etc. Time will also be given to work at your base school and in your classroom. Back to School Immunizations and Tdap Requirement for Students Entering 6th Grade
All 6th graders in the state of Virginia must have a booster Tdap vaccine prior to entering middle school. If your child has received their Tdap shot please bring the record of the immunization to the school as soon as possible. Students without the required immunizations will not be allowed to attend school. The Tdap vaccine may be obtained free of charge at the Stafford County Health Department. You can find additional information at Immunization Clinics or Stafford County Health Department. The health department can be reached at 540-659-3101.
SCPS UNVEILS NEW MY STOP APP FOR BUS ROUTES
Stafford County Public Schools (SCPS) unveils a new My Stop application. This exciting new feature allows parents to see GPS information on the location of their child’s bus. It’s a proactive move by the school system to keep parents informed on students’ bus location.
There are two ways to access My Stop:
3rd Annual Golf Classic
The Stafford Education Foundation will host its 3rd Annual Golf Classic on Tuesday September 20, 2016, 9:00 AM @ The Gauntlet Golf Club. All proceeds from this popular event will benefit Stafford County Public Schools. Collect for Kids Back to School Supply Drive - Accepting Donations Now through August 22, 2016
Every student does not begin the school year with the supplies they need to be successful. Together we can help make a difference in the lives of our students. Volunteers will collect and distribute school supplies to students in need at the beginning of the school year.
Twenty business partners are collecting school supplies at various drop-off locations. The business partners include: Apple Federal Credit Union Stafford Branch, Celebrate by Del Web, England Run Library, Five Below, Ford T. Humphrey Building (Stafford County Public Safety Center), George L. Gordon Building (Stafford County Government Center), Keller-Williams, Lupi Orthodontics, Mission BBQ, MVP Awards and Trophies, Porter Library, Rappahannock Orthodontics, Stafford County Fire & Rescue Berea Fire Station #12, Stafford County Public Schools (Alvin York Bandy Administrative Complex), Stafford Hospital, Target (Rt. 610), Walmart (Rt. 610) and Walmart (Stafford Lakes).

Textbook Adoption Committees for 2016-2017
During the 2016-17 school year, Stafford County Public Schools (SCPS) will adopt K-12 Social Studies textbooks.
If you are the parent of a current SCPS student and interested in serving on a textbook adoption committee, please contact Dr. Karen Duffy, supervisor of Libraries and Elective Programs, (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Please submit your name, address, phone number, school, and grade of your child. Participants should also include any skills, knowledge, or experience they bring to the committees. Please note the committees will meet five to six times from November to February in late afternoon or early evening.

The School Board and staff of Stafford County Public Schools extend our gratitude to the many community members who served on our advisory committees during the 2015-2016 school year. The dedication and commitment of these citizens help ensure Stafford County children receive a quality education. The advisory committees compile data, analyze problems, summarize findings and develop recommendations for the Stafford County School Board.
Are you interested in becoming an advisory committee member for 2016-2017? Any Stafford County citizen who wishes to serve on any School Board advisory committee for the 2016-2017 school year should submit an application by Wednesday, August 31, 2016, to Office of Strategic Communication and Community Engagement, SCPS, 31 Stafford Avenue, Stafford, VA 22554. The application form is available at the Alvin York Bandy Administrative Complex or access the link on our website below.
The School Board will appoint advisory committees in the following areas: Capital Improvements Planning, Career and Technical Education, Fine and Performing Arts, Gifted, School Health, Special Education and Technology.
